Tibetan Medicine

We are part of an international institution dedicated to disseminating Tibetan Medicine in the West and the Yuthok Nyingthig spiritual practices associated with it. Our mission is to represent this lineage in Brazil, offering retreats, courses, and specialized practices.

Sowa Rigpa

The Sowa Rigpa Institute, founded by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, is an educational center specializing in Traditional Tibetan Medicine. It offers professionally certified training programs, online workshops, short-, medium-, and long-term courses, and teachings from the Yuthok Nyingthig cycle of Buddhist practices. The content serves laypeople, more advanced practitioners, physicians, therapists, and students in the health field.

Yuthok Nyingthig

Yuthok Nyingthig, “the Heart-Essence of Yuthok,” is a unique cycle of Tibetan Buddhist teachings transmitted by Yuthok Yönten Gönpo the Younger (1126 – 1202 CE), regarded as the father of Tibetan Medicine. It is the principal spiritual tradition connected to sowa rigpa, or Tibetan Medicine, and offers physical benefits such as health and longevity, as well as the possibility of attaining the supreme spiritual accomplishment: the “rainbow body.” For health-care professionals, it teaches methods that sharpen intuition for diagnosis and treatment, integrating compassion and love for all beings and thereby grounding a truly compassionate service.

Yuthok Ling

Yuthok Ling is a Buddhist center in Itaipava-RJ dedicated to the study and practice of Traditional Tibetan Medicine and Tibetan Buddhism. Created for retreats, courses, and spiritual events, our temple will be a refuge of tranquility, wisdom, and authentic spiritual practice.

Help build this sacred space and join the effort to preserve and spread the Tibetan tradition in Brazil.

Tanaduk Gardens

In every temple of the Buddhist medical tradition there are Tanaduk Gardens—spaces devoted to physical and emotional healing and to the natural restoration of body, speech, and mind.

The gardens are laid out according to geometric and therapeutic principles, promoting harmony, meditation, and well-being for visitors.

They contain plants, minerals, and medicinal substances with properties tailored to the various disease categories and constitutional types defined in sowa rigpa.
